42. Time to Leave! We may have to leave our Mooring at the Marina…what should we do?

Living on a Narrowboat in a Marina but we may have to move out. Do we stay or go? What is the right thing to do during lockdown? We are allowed to make essential travel and Anthony needs to be close to work. Big decisions ahead. What we do in a typical day living on a Narrowboat.

Chocolate Orange Millionaire Shortbread

8oz Plain flour
4oz Butter
2oz Caster Sugar

Pulse all the ingredients together to form a fine breadcrumb. Press into a 7” baking tray.
Bake at 170degrees C until golden brown.

Caramel

Small tin condensed milk
4oz soft brown sugar
4oz butter
2 Dessert spoons golden syrup.

Put all in a pan and melt, stir occasionally. When melted, bring to boil for 3-4 minutes stirring continuously. Add jest of 1/2 orange and 2-3 tablespoons of orange juice. Mix together.

Pour caramel onto the shortbread and allow to cool.

Chocolate

Melt 6oz Dark chocolate (Ideally orange flavour or just add some orange zest to it)

Pour on top of cooled caramel and decorate with chocolate orange segments.

Let the whole thing cool.

To cut, put a sharp knife in boiling water to heat.
Wipe before scoring the chocolate. Repeat heating and cutting process to allow a sharp cut of the millionaire shortbread.
