Our beautiful new Narrowboat Home took a year to build from oder to completion. A worrying time for everyone 2020 is the year we all want to erase from our history. We sold our house one week before lockdown. All of our plans went out of the window, all of my magic shows were cancelled, we worried about the added stress and risks of Anthony working for the National Health Service. Anthony has bad asthma and we worried what would happen if he did contract Covid.
We also wondered if our house sale would still go through, would someone along the chain of house buyers drop out? Who knew what would be the new future for our boatbuilders, could they continue with the build? Would they be able to get supplies? Sleepless nights and anxiety started to get to us, especially me.
After a 30 year break from art, I finally found all this time on my hands and I started to enjoy creating art again. Creating Art and producing YouTube Videos became a passion. Our Boat was finally launched in October 2020 and we love her!
Luckily the weather in the UK was beautiful and it gave me time to reflect, to relax in the garden and listen to the birdsong. Nature thrived and I think this helped so many people. I filmed my very first piece to camera on the 23 March 2020 and uploaded to YouTube. I found time to learn new filming techniques, learned to edit and started our YouTube channel.
Kath and Annamarie from their channel The Narrowboat Experience asked if I would like to do a collaboration and we both had a go at drawing a duckling picture, this was so kind of Annamarie and the orders started to come in for my art. This was such a massive boost to my confidence.
After a delay because a member of the boatbuilding team contracted Covid, we finally launched on the 10 October 2020 and we are in love with our new home and the adventure she brings to our lives.
